Quality and affordability are combined in the impressive new Eclipse MAKVIEW6 Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope. The MAKVIEW6 is a splendid 152mm f/12.5 telescope for the intermediate or advanced astronomer. The proven Maksutov optical system gives sharp, high-contrast images and a long focal length (1900mm) in a compact tube. Little, if any collimation is ever required, with the small secondary mirror being an aluminized spot on the inner surface of the thick corrector lens.
It uses high quality BK7 glass and features a wavefront of 1/5 wave (corresponding to a surface accuracy of 1/10 wave) or better. This Mak is capable of high magnification views as well. Planets and Lunar targets are commonly viewed above 300x. This scope is perfect for those who need a medium aperture to give bright deep-sky images and outstanding sharpness and detail in planetary views!
The Eclipse MAKVIEW6 is manufactured at the same facility as much higher-priced Maksutovs of similar specifications. The MAKVIEW6 shares their optical accuracy, coatings, mechanical construction and quality control.
Physical finish and construction are among the best you will find at this price. The telescope comes complete with a 2" 90-degree mirror diagonal, a 2" 32mm wide angle eyepiece, a 7x50 finderscope, a 1.25" barlow and a 1.25" 15mm eyepiece.
This telescope is offered in an OTA package with the listed accessories only. However, it can be easily mounted via the included dovetail mounting plate on many of the popularly available telescope mounts such as those from Celestron, Synta, Vixen, etc. (not included).
