This special thumb screw allows the Celestron SkyScout to be attached to the latest version of the FAR-Sight mount in place of a red dot finder. With this configuration, you may use your binoculars in tandem with your SkyScout. (Can be used with the latest version of the FAR-Sight only.)
The FAR-Sight system is constructed almost entirely of stainless steel. Stainless steel has a low magnetic attraction. The SkyScout is very sensitive to magnetic interference, so follow the guidelines in the SkyScout manual for best results. (SkyScout not included.)
