Agena AstroProducts is growing and I need help in a number of areas. Some positions are local while others can be done remotely from anywhere. All positions are part-time and days/hours are flexible. Pay will be hourly and will depend on experience.
Obviously, interest in astronomy is prerequisite for most positions listed below, so if you are an amateur astronomer with the interest and skills I need (especially in the Los Angeles/Orange County areas), I'd love to hear from you. This is also a great opportunity if you have experience working with the many astronomy manufacturers and vendors in Southern California (Meade,
Celestron, William Optics, Thousand Oaks, ScopeCity, Woodland Hills,
OPT) and want to freelance.

1. Position Title: Product Reviewers/Evaluators
Job Description:
- As amateur astronomers, evaluate new optical and mechanical products and provide critical feedback for product improvement.
- We'd like to maintain a list of amateur astronomers who are interested in helping out with equipment testing as and when required.
Job Location: Anywhere in the US, but prefer amateur astronomers in the Southern California area.
2. Position Title: Optical Quality Control Inspector
Job Description:
- Inspect all incoming shipments of astronomy products from suppliers (Examples: Inspect and collimate telescopes, Inspect all eyepieces/accessories for dust, Test new products, etc.)
- As required when new shipments arrive

3. Position Title: Mechanical Quality Control Inspector/Workshop Assistant
Job Description:
- Inspect all incoming shipments of astronomy products from suppliers
(Examples: Inspect mounts, Test new products, Perform basic mechanical enhancements/fixes as required, etc.).
- Workshop experience and access to a mechanical shop for repairs and new product development a big plus.
- As required when new shipments arrive

4. Position Title: Imaging Products Development Manager
Job Description:
- Evaluate existing adapters and accessories available on the astronomy market, especially for imaging with CCDs, webcams, film/digital cameras, etc.
- Develop and prototype new products. Work with suppliers to bring new mechanical products to market.
- Perform basic astrophotography for testing and marketing needs.
- Workshop experience and access to a mechanical shop for repairs and new product development a big plus.
Job Location: Strongly prefer someone in the Southern California area. Local people should be able to meet as required in Cerritos, California.
5. Position Title: Internet Marketing Manager

Job Description:
- Write technically accurate and enticing product descriptions for our web site.
- Should be able to synthesize knowledge of astronomy products and observing, product specifications, and competitor's products to develop content.
- Occasionally develop "how to" articles for products we sell.

7. Position Title: Administrative Assistant/Shipping Clerk
Job Description:
- Perform all required administrative duties like purchasing, basic correspondence with customers and suppliers, order supplies, run errands as necessary, perform basic internet research and web site updates, etc.
- Responsible for pulling parts, packaging orders, receiving and shipping, and inventory updates.
- Maintain basic accounts
- Supervise global team of 3-4 freelancers who work for our web sites in different roles.
