Product Information

Protect your dark adaptation, improve your viewing experience and protect the optical surface from grime and oil with the use of rubber eyeguards for eyepieces.

The eyeguards are made of flexible, yet strong rubber so they will stretch a bit (3-5mm) beyond the nominal diameter noted below to fit over many other eyepieces. These are available in 2 sizes for 1.25" and 2" eyepieces as follows:

EG01: Nominal diameter ~29mm (unstretched). Height = 12.5mm. From GSO's 1.25" Plossl and SuperView eyepieces. As a reference, the diameter of the barrel extension this eyeguard sits over on the SV eyepiece is 32mm. Can be folded down. Made in Taiwan. 

EG02: Nominal diameter ~29mm (unstretched). Height = 12.5mm. From Agena's 1.25" UWA eyepieces. As a reference, the diameter of the barrel extension this eyeguard sits over on the SV eyepiece is 32mm. Cannot be folded down. Made in China.

EG03: Winged eyeguard from Antares' 1.25" Ultima Plossl and Abbe Ortho eyepieces. As a reference, the diameter of the upper barrel these sit on is 32mm (Plossl) and 34mm (Ortho). Made in Japan.

EG04: Nominal diameter ~40.0mm (unstretched). Height = 14mm. From GSO's 2" Kellner and SuperView eyepieces. As a reference, the diameter of the barrel extension this eyeguard sits over on the SV eyepiece is 44mm. Can be folded down. Made in Taiwan.

EG05: Nominal diameter ~57.0mm (unstretched). Height = 14mm. From Agena's 2" UWA eyepieces. As a reference, the diameter of the barrel extension this eyeguard sits over on the UWA eyepiece is 47mm. Cannot be folded down. Made in China.
